International Payments
Payments
Emory offers two easy options for making payments from international bank accounts, Convera (formerly Western Union Business Solutions) and Flywire.
Students can easily access either of these options within OPUS. Select the Student Account tile | Make a Payment | International Payments. Links for both Convera and Flywire are also included below.
Both options allow you to save on fees, track your payments, and pay securely from any country and any bank, typically in your home currency. USD payment options are also available for a nominal fee through Flywire or Convera.

- Create your account using your Emory email address. You will receive a second email to “Activate Your Email Address” and complete the set up by entering your name and Emory student ID.
- Select a plan. A $30 enrollment fee will be added to the balance.
- Enter the total balance due on your student account in OPUS.
- The first installment + $30 signup fee will be due immediately to activate the plan.
- Follow the steps shown to select your country and payment method and complete the transaction by transferring funds to Flywire.
- Receive email updates and notifications about your payment.
- For consecutive installments, you will be notified to return to the site to complete your payments.
Enrollment and down payment are required by the published payment deadline each term to avoid cancellation, holds, and late fees.
Refunds
Due to banking regulations, Emory cannot act as an intermediary between your international and US bank accounts. Please do not send more funds than what is due on your student account. Overpayments will only be refunded up to the cost of attendance each semester. Anything above the cost of attendance will be applied to future term charges.
Please speak with your parent or sponsor about sending cost of living funds directly to your US bank account to avoid any delay in receiving your funds.
We encourage all Emory students to consider enrolling in direct deposit using their US checking or savings account to receive any refunds. This option can be found under the Student Account tile in OPUS.
